The Everett Cooperative Preschool is located in the heart of Everett, just across from the Snohomish County Campus, housed in the First Presbyterian Church of Everett. We are excited to be part of the ever changing downtown core of Everett. We believe that our location and community involvement will contribute to and enhance the vitality of our beloved city. We plan to focus on promoting and highlighting the city of Everett by partnering with local businesses and community organizations, and connecting with local resources to enrich our curriculum, activities, and field trips. As a result of building these connections, we hope to create an inclusive and diverse preschool where parents, teachers, children, and community partners are all learning and growing together.
At Everett Cooperative Preschool, we believe that play is the foundation of early learning, and learning through playing together is at the heart of what we do. A cooperative preschool is unique, because when you and your child enroll, you embark on the journey together. Active participation from both the students and the parents creates confident, eager, lifelong learners. Our goal is to offer a place where families from all backgrounds can learn and grow together. One of the unique benefits of EvCP is that we encourage family participation and lower the barriers many families face when enrolling in a cooperative preschool by allowing siblings of all ages to attend on your work day for a small yearly fee.
The early years are the time when our children begin to develop their sense of self-esteem, self-worth, and autonomy. Because we believe that children are inherently capable, we allow them the freedom to participate actively in their education and help guide their own learning through curious exploration, guided discovery, and social interactions with both their peers and the adults in the classroom. We assist them in learning cooperation, good listening skills, and how to behave in a large group. We foster the connection between physical activity and cognitive development, and even have a walking regimen (and safety lessons) as part of our program. The positive environment allows the children to become comfortable enough for trial and error in decision-making and problem-solving. The confidence and relationships that students and parents gain from the cooperative model will last for years to come.
